About Wu's Shanghai Dumpling上海小笼- North Brunswick
Located at 885 US-1, North Brunswick Township, NJ 08902, Wu's Shanghai Dumpling上海小笼- North Brunswick operates as a chinese restaurant serving North Brunswick Township in New Jersey. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.
In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in North Brunswick Township; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in New Jersey are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.
The business lists hours on 6 days of the week. The most common schedule is 11:30 am–9:30 pm. Note that it does not open on Tuesday. Been here a few times. The original location in edison (back in the day) has been my go to for tasty chinese... and I appreciate the spin off locations for more accessibility to good food. I always get (and always love) a few orders of XLB, chicken cabbage rice cakes, and rotate through their spicy noodle features. We had the kids with us last time, so we also added an order of sesame balls. It's always fun to watch the staff make the dumplings on site, and their XLB is noticiely bigger and juicier than most other places. However, it did seem to fall apart more than I remember - it's always a bummer when they pop prematurely. I also felt their sesame balls could have been fried a bit longer for more crisp, and there was just a general smell of cleaning liquid throughout (authentically Chinese but clashes with the nice decor and stamped napkins & gold plates). Otherwise a decent experience and most likely will continue to patronize.

Went here because of an article that said it was one of the best places for soup dumplings in the state. The dumplings were excellent as was the advice. Everything was reasonably priced. A must for anyone who enjoys good dumplings.

I’m obsessed with this place. Me and my friends went here on a whim and it’s like we discovered a hidden gem. The places so nice and clean. The food was amazing, I can’t wait to go back, I got the spicy (not really spicy) beef noodles and they were amazing, the scallion beef roll was OMG so good and flaky and just everything you need haha the kimchi dumpling I’d 100% get again, pork buns were super juicy, and we got a few drinks. I will definitely NOT recommend the plum juice haha but that’s just my opinion. The food was amazing, the vibe was ok I think if they added some music on low or something it’ll give it a better vibe because it was a little awkward having conversations since it was so Quiet, you can hear everyone else’s conversations. But I will be returning.

We loved everything we ordered except for the garlic broccoli —— they were frozen broccoli and tasted squishy. The broccoli reminded us the steam bags from grocery stores we microwave to get some instant veggies. That’s the reason why I took one star off. Other than that, the soup dumplings, pan fried pork bun, vegetable and pork wonton, and the black tiger bubble tea were all very tasty. The server was friendly and attentive. The decors of buns and dumplings are super cute and the atmosphere is welcoming.
